BODUM Square Automatic Gravity Operated Salt and Pepper Grinder, Green

Product Description

Cooking doesn’t get any easier with the Bodum square gravity grinder. This all purpose grinder seems to work by sheer intuition. The ceramic gear goes into action as soon as the grinder is tilted towards the foods that need to be seasoned. The gravity grinder senses its position and starts and stops working according to its angle. It features an attractive, slip-safe rubber finish available in eight colors. The convenient ceramic mill allows it to be used for salt, pepper and spices. Runs with 6 AAA batteries.

  • Ceramic mechanisms accommodate salt, pepper and spice
  • No on or off switches-gravity turns the unit on and off
  • One handed operation
  • Fully adjustable grind mechanism
  • Uses 6-AAA batteries(not included)

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't always work, March 5, 2011

I wanted a pepper grinder I did not have to crank or twist. However, this Bodum unit is disappointing. It is supposed to switch on when tilted sideways but operation is hit or miss - the gravity operated electrical switch is unreliable. Even when it works properly, it's much too large, with a small peppercorn compartment and a huge battery and motor section. Not a good design. Do not recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Less than reliable, January 17, 2011

I've found that I have to futz with the angle to get it to work right sometimes. It is very nice not to have to grind by hand.
